There are many reasons why people are unhappy with the shape and size of their lips. For some their lips have started to appear thinner and less defined as a result of the natural ageing process. For others their lips have always been narrow with a less pronounced cupid’s bow.
Despite us being encouraged to wear face masks, the number of patients we have wanting consultations about lip treatments has not fallen – quite the opposite!
At SDS Rejuvenate MediSpa we offer a range of treatments specifically for the lips.
It is still dermal fillers that most patients want to discuss at consultation. We are aware there is still reluctance and apprehension as people worry about having duck lips as a result of filler treatment. We offer reassurance explaining the we absolutely do not want such an outcome and the aim of dermal fillers is simply to subtly augment or correct asymmetry, or to replace any volume that has been lost. We aim to produce a natural, youthful and plumped lip appearance.
Dermal fillers – have been specifically developed to enhance the natural pattern of your lips helping you achieve more defined beautifully shaped enhanced lips. There are many types of dermal fillers but the filler we use contains only Hyaluronic Acid (HA). HA is a natural substance that is found in your body.
If you are contemplating having dermal fillers for the first time, we may actually suggest dipping your toe in the water and trying 0.6ml as this can give a very natural ‘non filled look’ and a sensible approach if you are still a little apprehensive. Obviously there is still the option of the full 1ml syringe if this is considered appropriate.
Alternative treatments for the lip include:
LipLase – this is a laser treatment. It uses laser energy to stimulate the body’s natural production of collagen that depletes as we age. If you feel your lips are thinner and less defined than they used to be, LipLase can help to reverse the signs of ageing. LipLase is an ideal alternative to lip fillers. It involves up to 4 treatments at monthly intervals and the results after the completed course will last approximately 6 months. However just one treatment will exfoliate and plump the lips, the effects lasting approximately 24 hours!
HydraFacial Lip Perk™ – Lip Perk combines a therapist delivered treatment with an advanced, daily use, take-home product – specially designed to enhance and prolong the effects of the therapist delivered treatment. Lip Perk gives you the best of both worlds, combining efficiency with effective results. The treatment uses patented roller-flex technology, to gently remove the surface layer of dead skin cells and impurities while simultaneously delivering vital antioxidants to the lips. The lip service exfoliates and perfectly primes lips with essential key ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, peony extract and peppermint oil that lightly plumps the pout. The serum vial used during the treatment turns into your take-home product for a month’s home-use applications. You should continue to use the serum twice a day, for 28 days to achieve the best results possible.
We can combine this with the full HydraFacial treatment, a wonderful facial that is well known as the ‘Skin Health For Life’ treatment. You can view further details on our website, it is one of our most popular treatments!
Finally if you simply want to enhance your lips and improve the pout but do not want an in clinic treatment, you can try our SDS Lip Plumper. This was introduced to our SDS Skin Care range during lockdown and whilst clinics were closed it went viral – we have distributed our SDS Lip Plumper as far afield as Ireland, Uruguay and Australia! It has proven popular across the ages, from teenagers to the more mature. The before and after photos we have received are fabulous!
So, in summary, we have a range of treatments available in our clinics and if you have concerns about your lips and you are considering treatment, or if you wish to discuss cost please do not hesitate to call our clinics and we can discuss your options further during a free consultation.
